Walnut between Steel

A minimalist sculptural bench composed of two curved steel supports and a continuous solid walnut plank, this work explores balance, tension, and material contrast. The oxidized steel legs arc inward to form a grounded yet dynamic base, while the warm wood surface spans lightly between them, appearing to hover. The piece emphasizes a dialogue between weight and levity, industrial and organic qualities, and highlights inherent material strength. Subtle bends and restrained geometry reveal the hand of fabrication, allowing structure itself to become the primary expression. Functioning simultaneously as furniture and sculpture, the work invites quiet interaction and contemplation of how materials meet, support, and transform one another.
